Our Team

Chelbi A. Mims

Chelbi Mims is a bit of an infrastructure junkie, which is not surprising given her passion for public service and building up underserved communities. She is a student of public policy and understands what can happen when government attempts to implement change without adequate community engagement. She knows Houston and the Texas Legislature and has an enviable list of local contacts that make her an integral part of the One World Strategy Group’s public affairs and governmental relations team.

The strong and driven professional Chelbi contrasts with her personal side. She will do everything within her power to advance client goals, but if asked to talk about herself, you may hear crickets. Others have many kind things to say. They describe a warm and giving person committed to faith and family – a steadfast friend. If given a choice, Chelbi would be at home curled up on the couch watching the TV show Abbott Elementary instead of chit-chatting at a large cocktail party or sharing every tidbit about her life on social media. She practices hot yoga, loves to travel and cherishes time with her Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority sisters.

Chelbi is active in the community, mentoring at the Yellowstone Academy and serving as a member of the Greater Houston Partnership, Key PAC Houston, Houston Young Professionals Endeavor and the City of Houston Generation Advisory Council.
